Tinto de Verano

Tinto de Verano

Today, I´d like to introduce you to an extremely refreshing summer-time drink, “Tinto de Verano” (or “red wine of summer”), which is extremely simple to make. There are basically two popular versions, one uses tonic water, and the other, lemonade. I´ve tried both but prefer the former, as it is not quite so sweet as the lemonade version. This is the one that I´ve prepared in this post. Why not try them both, and see which you prefer?

The recipe calls for equal parts wine and fizz, but it´s worth trying a few different ratios to see what works best for you.

The drink is served chilled, and often with ice.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of red wine
  • 2 tins/bottles of tonic water
  • slices of lime or lemon
